There a numerous industries and workplace situations that may bring employees into contact with native wildlife.

Victoria is home to several species of venomous snakes, all of which pose some form of potential risk to employees and work processes. Risks include encounters with snakes in outdoor settings, but may also involve situations where snakes have entered buildings, structures and/or services such as communication and electrical pits. Snakes are also translocated in stock and produce during freight and logistics processes.
